FOR SALE is a 1978 Porsche 911 SC Targa finished in its factory color of Grand Prix White (paint code 908) over a white interior, an uncommon and highly desirable color combination.
We purchased this vehicle from its long-term owner of over 12 years in Illinois. Prior to that, the car spent the majority of its life in California. During his ownership, the car was professionally disassembled and repainted in its original factory color. At that time, many of the rubber seals and gaskets were replaced, the interior was refreshed, and the Targa top was refinished.
This example shows approximately 75,000 miles and is in excellent mechanical condition. Power comes from its 3.0-liter flat-six engine mated to a 915 five-speed manual transmission. The engine starts easily, runs strong, and sounds excellent. The transmission shifts smoothly through the gears, while the clutch and brakes feel as they should.
Based on the appearance and condition of the drivetrain, it appears the engine may have been rebuilt at some point in its life; however, we do not have documentation to support this. A Carrera chain tensioner upgrade has been completed. The undercarriage presents very well and is notably clean.
The car comes with a clean title and shows no signs of any prior accident damage. Overall, this is a very attractive, low-mileage 911 SC Targa finished in one of the most distinctive color combinations available.
